Question asked in the House of Commons, March 6, 1907.

Mr. Sloan,-To ask the Secretary of State for India, whether any proposals have recently been received from the Chinese Government in regard to the importation and taxation of Indian opium; and, if so, will he lay them upon the table of the House.

Answer.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. It would not be in the public interest to lay papers at present.
